▷ Choose your shoes carefully for the longe hill

The sea air stings your nostrils. The wet sand crunches under your feet. You step into the water. It's cool. You wade in up to your waist. Your coastal walking session begins.

I'm Julie, your contact in Customer Service, and I've been practicing this sport every summer in Brittany for the past two years. It's my time to completely disconnect. Brittany offers magnificent landscapes. But its seabed holds some surprises.

Shifting sand. Slippery rocks. Treacherous seaweed. I learned a major lesson during my outings. Your gear changes your experience. Your shoes are your primary performance tool.

Why is coastal walking so popular? ?

Coastal walking is aquatic walking. You walk in water that reaches between your navel and chest. You propel yourself through the water with your hands, a paddle, or webbed gloves. It's a complete sport. Your body is protected from impact. Your joints are spared. Your heart gets a workout too. The cold ocean stimulates your blood circulation beyond normal levels. It's a formidable calorie burner. But to enjoy these benefits, you need stability. In the water, your footing is different. The ground is invisible. You have to trust your feet.

The secret to a good workout is maintenance

At the beginning of my training, I made a classic mistake. I wore shoes that were too wide. In the water, the current is strong. The waves push against your body. Your feet struggle to stay planted. If your shoe moves, you lose your balance. You tire more quickly. Your foot slips inside the sole. This causes irritation, and sometimes the shoe even comes off by itself. It's frustrating!

I tested several models from the " collectionSport" of our online store. My conclusion is clear. The shoe must hold your foot firmly. The water shoe must become one with you. It shouldn't float. It shouldn't absorb water, but rather drain it as much as possible. Good support prevents strains and even sprains. It allows you to focus on your movement. You gain power. You gain confidence.

The Sport collection, a wise choice

Some athletes recommend booties. They're an option for winter when the water is icy. But for regular, recreational use in the summer, water shoes are preferable. They're lighter and allow your feet to breathe. In our shop, we offer high-performance sports models. They're designed for action.

These shoes feature technical soles. The rubber is grippy, maintaining traction even on mud or seaweed. The shoe's flexible structure adapts to the natural movement of your foot, allowing for a more natural gait. Materials like mesh and the perforated sole ensure rapid water drainage. Your shoe doesn't become a dead weight at the end of your legs.

How to choose your ideal pair ?

First, look at the sole. It should be fairly thick but still flexible. You shouldn't feel every little pebble, but it should conform to the contours of the seabed as much as possible. The sole should extend slightly up the sides to protect your toes from impacts. The closure system is also key. Some models have adjustable laces. Others have straps. The idea is to be able to tighten the shoe according to the shape of your foot.

Choose a pair from our Sport collection. Put on your shoes.Adjust the tightness. You're ready to face the waves and enjoy your coastal walking session.

Trust your feet, the ocean awaits!
